The girls at the club's bar liked him quite a lot, mostly because he was the first one there when anyone gave them any trouble. That was actually how Steve had gotten the job, and one of the reasons why the owner and the rest of the staff hadn't made much of a fuss about his lack of paperwork: he'd seen a girl having trouble with a patron out the back and he'd stepped in.
